1. In all ages in all countries liquor has ruined homes and heart.
Today the rich and the poor, the young and the old become drink
addict many young men and women together drink and dine and
dance till late night in hotels and social clubs. On pay day, mill and
factory workers are mostly seen in wine shops spending their weekly
or monthly income on liquor. We read of tragedies caused by illicit
country liquors.liquor has wrecked many homes.
2. Drink addicts neglect their families. The drunkard’s family is
steeped in misery. He comes home drunk Children are neglected. He is
not in a position to provide for the basic need of his family as
food,shelter,and clothing, education and medical aid. Wife and
Children suffer in mind and body. Young daughters of marriageable
age are often left to their fates. He might go the extent of selling his
wife and his own property to buy liquor. A heavy drunkard is a slave to
drink habit. Drunkard’s do not hesitate to commit murders. This will
lead their families in misery.

3. Drinking is social evil. It is one of the main causes of poverty in
india. The curse of drink corrupts the soul within mahatma Gandhi
suggested prohibition to root out this social evil. But the day failed in
India. The best way though not the only way is to educate the people
about the evils of drink habit.
4. Example is better than parents,parents would do well to set an
example as Gandhiji did.
